Report on 11th Grade Students' short term research training  at King Faisal  Specialist Hospital  and Research Centre (KFSHRC) Jeddah

 

Objective:

The study aims to familiarize students with contemporary research methodologies, offering them a firsthand encounter with a research environment. The goal is to not only provide valuable experiential learning but also to ignite their enthusiasm for the field of medical research.

Overview of the Workshop:

Senior international section of My little house school pleased to provide a comprehensive report on the five-day workshop that our 11th-grade students attended at the King Faisal  Specialist Hospital  and Research Centre  ( KFSHRC) , Jeddah. The workshop aimed to provide hands-on experience in cell culture and DNA analysis, along with informative sessions on statistics, research analysis, and related topics. The workshop spanned five days, during which our students actively participated in various practical activities and engaged in valuable learning experiences.

 

Hands-on Cell Culture and DNA Analysis:

The highlight of the workshop was the hands-on experience in cell culture and DNA analysis. Students had the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, gaining practical insights into the techniques and methodologies involved in these crucial aspects of molecular biology. This practical exposure is invaluable in reinforcing theoretical knowledge and preparing students for future endeavors in the field.

 

Informative Sessions:

The workshop also included informative sessions covering a range of topics, including statistics research analysis and research journey. These sessions were designed to broaden the students' understanding of the research process, enhance their analytical skills, and provide a foundation for more advanced studies in the sciences.

 

Student Feedback:

Throughout the workshop, our students expressed enthusiasm and satisfaction with the hands-on experiences and informative sessions. Many found the practical application of theoretical concepts particularly enriching, and the opportunity to interact with experts at the at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) Jeddah was highlighted as a significant aspect of their learning.
